    Gothic beauty called Johnstown

Let’s go back in time to July 2019 when we went on a trip to East Ireland – to a park called Johnstown which can be found right by Wexford town. This park is not any special except there are peacocks running free & wild and there is a castle, too! Surely you’ve never seen a castle. Let alone an Irish one! This one in Johnstown is visually different from the rest British-Scottish like castles. The Johnstown one looks more like a chateau (yep, this is an English word). The first mention of the estate dates back to the 12th century, when it was owned by the Norman family. During…

Live: Sigrid got the 3 arena moving

The Norwegian pop princess has been on my concert bucket list since Strangers single. Sigrid has played in Ireland several times, but it was either in the middle of nowhere or in a sold out club. I have to admit that I bought the ticket for her 3 Arena concert sometime in the summer – long after this stop was announced. Well, I’m not going to bore you with the details, however before I melt over the gig, I just want to remind you that Sigrid released Sucker Punch in March and it’s pretty good. I think everyone can find something to relate to on that record. Oh and the…

Belfast: what to see and do

After eight years in Ireland and eternal planning, my mom and I finally went to Belfast. In the article I will melt over the beauty of the Northern Irish metropolis, but it will also be an informative type of an article, because I think that there is not enough tips on TripAdvisor. Sadly, when I Googled what to see in Belfast, TripAdvisor showed me about only three places and I thought there wasn’t much to see and do in Belfast. So my mom and I went without any plan and we thought we would get off the bus and wander around. So we got off the bus and we were…

How Wallis Bird's strong voice took over Vicar Street

Hearing Wallis Bird name probably doesn’t ring any bells, however, that doesn’t change the fact that you should give her a chance. Wallis is an Irish singer-songwriter currently living in Berlin. She has released a new studio album Woman this year and to my delight announced an Irish leg of tour. Originally I was thinking about Dublin and Cork but then Sigrid announced a Dublin gig so I only went to Dublin. Wallis is an extraordinary artist from a small town Enniscorthy in County Wexford (southeast of Ireland). What is interesting about Wallis apart from her pop folk style is a fact that she is a left handed but she…

I feel good and I’m not afraid to show it

I’m aware that my public image can get onto nerves to some people. And also, that I don’t owe an explanation to anyone. But maybe this short article full of thoughts will help someone. Recently I’ve started my ninth year in Ireland. It’s been eight years since I moved to the Emerald Isle. And although my social media are full of rainbows and unicorns, it had not always been like that. On Saturday, the day of my moving anniversary, I posted a simple Story on my Insta Stories where I mentioned the moving and that I feel happy. Obviously this can all be misleading. That girl is annoying – always…

In the footsteps of Irish Nature: county Wicklow

Some time in mid-August there was a brand new challenge awaiting me – it was the first time meeting my new friend E. which I’ve got to known via Instagram. E. lives in Dublin and knows its surroundings pretty well so she has decided that we spend the day in mountains. I was excited until I realize that that is exactly what a serial killer would say. I’ve been following E. on Instagram for a while now and I’ve been loving her shots since the first day. Usually she posts great shots of Irish nature or parts of Dublin. I will not get into how we started to talk. The…

    My first Irish music festival

The first weekend in August I attended my first eco-friendly music festival. It was quite a new music festival in our County and I went as a Waterford Walls volunteer. All Together Now festival took a place for a first time last year in August and not only it was immediately sold out but it was such a success that the festival sold out this year too. Within minutes. That’s quite normal for Ireland to be honest (I don’t mind this when it comes to festivals but Adele 2016 ..). Anyways, thanks to my volunteering with Waterford Walls (technically, with The Walls Project which runs WW but I won’t get…

Beauty of West Ireland: Ross castle and Killarney

Welcome to another travelog around Ireland! This time I’m taking you with me to the most visited part of Ireland, County Kerry and Killarney town. If you haven’t been to Kerry at least once, you haven’t been to Ireland! Masses of tourists in tourbuses driving from Dublin through Cliffs of Moher to Kerry to gush over the real Irish nature, to visit Skellig Michael where the latest Star Wars have been shot, so they could cross out another thing from their bucket list. Killarney is a small town with approx. 20,000 inhabitants which lives basically only from tourism. We noticed that on our arrival but let’s start from the beginning.…

Irish hidden gems: John F. Kennedy Arboretum

If you follow me on Instagram you could have noticed that I have been sharing my experience from John F. Kennedy Arboretum in County Wexford. If you don’t follow me you probably have lots of questions. As usual, keep reading and I will explain it all. Ireland has lots to offer – from cities like Dublin, Galway or Cork through nature phenomenon Cliffs of Moher or crazy things like a little Statue of Liberty (I might dig out the photo for you one day). Lots of tourists usually only visit Dublin and then go straight to west, to the cliffs and County Kerry. I don’t blame them for wanting to…

Dublin: a visit of Botanic Gardens

Today I will take you with me to a more remote part of Dublin where Botanic Gardens are located. As usual this article will be full of photos and interesting information. Dublin Botanic Gardens are located in North Dublin, approx. 5 km from city centre. If you ever decide to visit these gardens then know that you can either walk (that takes about one hour) or take a bus – lines 4, 9, 13 and 155 leave quite frequently from O’Connell Street. The entrance to these gardens is free of charge. These gardens were founded back in 1795, the current size is about 20 acres and this is Irish headquarters…
