Live: Reneé Rapp in Dublin 2026
Well, one year has passed and as I said after my first Reneé concert I went again. This time, however, with a friend who didn’t know her and to a bigger venue.
Reneé played a concert at 3arena the day after Kesha, on Sunday, March 22. Getting tickets was also fun. If you don’t go to concerts that often, allow me to mansplain a little: tickets have gone up since corona, but in the last year, artists have often charged twice as much for the same venue where they last played. And that doesn’t even offer the same long setlist as the Eras tour. For comparison, I paid about 60 euros for Kesha for standing. Reneé wanted 120 euros for a seat in the same arena. Which is a joke, because the seats are nothing special and literally no one has ever asked that much for a seat ticket at 3arena. However, this didn’t pay off for her (it was probably the promoter’s fault), because the tickets were eventually reduced to 70 euros per seat that same day and in the end, unlike Kesha, Reneé’s concert did not sell out.
This paid off for us, because apart from the remaining three empty seats for our unused tickets, a few other seats on both sides of us were empty and especially a few in front of us, so the view was great. We were sitting right at the top. Most of the lighting throughout the concert was red and Reneé’s top was the same color…
More of us were supposed to go to the concert, but some ended up being sick and I went with a friend who didn’t know Reneé at all. And of course, she was absolutely thrilled with her at the end. Anyway, let’s quickly move on to the support act. Her name was Absolutely and she’s Raye’s sister. She plays a slightly different music, but I think I liked her better than Kesha’s support act the night before.
As for Reneé – thanks to the concert at 3Olympia I knew what to expect and the artist delivered. Great setlist, strong voice and great messages the whole evening. On top of that, during the closing song At Least I’m Hot, her girlfriend Towa Bird actually showed up (yes, she supported her on the last tour) and said the two lines that she says in that song into the microphone. It was a great surprise for everyone.
Another thing I liked about the concert was that before Reneé’s set, a short video was played, where the artist herself spoke and called on everyone in the arena to donate to the Save the Children foundation if they could (they help children in Congo, Palestine, etc.). She then mentioned the same thing during the concert and even literally said “genocide”. I love artists who are not afraid to speak the truth.
The setlist again consisted of older pieces, for example Snow Angel could not be missed, we also heard a piece of Not My Fault and the rest was from the latest album Bite Me. This also reminds me, and Reneé herself mentioned this during the concert, that she closed the previous Snow Hard Feelings tour in Dublin in March 2024. She also closed this year’s Bite Me tour in Dublin and also in March.
I will repeat myself, but the concert was great for me and if the tickets are not crazy expensive, I will go again next time. Reneé really never disappoints.
