Live: Sarah Kinsley in Dublin 2024
I’ve been eagerly awaiting Sarah Kinsley’s concert in Dublin for years, and when she finally announced a Dublin stop, of course I had to go. I was so excited that I bought my tickets in presale on the way from the airport in Austria haha Sarah Kinsley is from New York and has been making music for a few years now. I came across her on Instagram, where she was showing how she composed the music for the song Over + Under. I was intrigued by the whole process and especially the music itself – a mix of modern and classical. That was almost 4 years ago and I have…

Live: Bambie Thug in Dublin 2024
Ireland finally sent an amazing artist to Eurovision this year. Doomsday Blue is not a genre I would normally listen to, but I was so intrigued that when Bambie announced a European tour, I had to go! First of all, I would like to point out that Bambie Thug uses the pronoun “they”, so I will write everything in the plural 🙂 Bambie is from County Cork, but they live in London and were not that well-known in Ireland before Eurovision, even though they had released a few songs by then. This year, the selection of the Irish song at Eurovision was similar to the Czech Republic – several artists…

Live: Jonas Brothers in Dublin 2024
In September, I had another concert experience when the Jonas Brothers came to play at the 3Arena in Dublin. Of course, my camera could not be missing. I was hoping to see the band live before Covid, but unfortunately their Dublin concert sold out. When they announced the stops for The Tour last summer and Dublin was among them, I just had to go. I finally got the tickets, about 2 weeks after buying the tickets for the Eras tour, when I declared that I would not buy any more tickets… The concert was originally supposed to be in June, but the band moved the tour to autumn at the…

Live: Chappell Roan in Dublin 2024
In mid-September I had another concert and it was the American singer Chappell Roan. It took place as usual in the 3Olympia Theater in Dublin, and of course my camera couldn’t miss it. And we had a big surprise! It’s interesting with Chappell because a friend introduced me to her at the beginning of the year. I listened to her debut album back then, which had already been out since September, I think. I remember two songs that caught my eye on it – Super Graphic Ultra Modern Girl and My Kink is Karma. I then added these songs to my playlist and somehow didn’t listen to the album any…

First visit of Frankfurt in Autumn 2023
Last fall, I visited the German capital for the first time, and even though it was originally supposed to be for a different reason, I ended up having my camera with me and I would love to share my photos and experiences with you! I looked at Frankfurt a few years ago, but I remember that it seemed too big and I was a little afraid to visit it. But don’t let the map fool you – the city center isn’t that big and you get to know it quickly. I experienced this for myself in mid-October 2023. Originally, my friends and I were supposed to go to the Fletcher…

Live: Fletcher in Dublin during ISOTA tour
The American singer Fletcher headed to Dublin twice as part of the In Search of the Antidote tour and of course I couldn’t miss it! The Fletcher concert in May 2022 was my first concert since the start of the pandemic and it raised the bar high again for live music. When Fletcher released her second album, Girl of my dreams, and announced a European tour, it was clear that I had to go. The concerts were originally supposed to take place the first weekend in November last year, but Cari had health problems and postponed the tour until this spring. The concerts finally took place on May 15 and…

Photo Corner – Spraoi: Waterford Street Art Festival
Every year in the middle of summer, the streets of Waterford are filled with artists from all over the world performing their art, be it music, dance, acrobatics, theater or anything else. This is one of the biggest and in my opinion the best festivals in Waterford and in Ireland as a whole. The name Spraoi comes from Irish and means fun or revelry, which beautifully describes the festival itself. It takes place every year at the same time – the weekend over the public holiday in August (always the first Monday of the month). The festival has been running since 1993 and several dozen artists perform in it every…

Live: Postmodern Jukebox in Galway
At the end of April, I went to Galway with my friends, for a ladies’ weekend, but also for a concert by the New York cover band Postmodern Jukebox. Postmodern Jukebox was formed in New York in 2011 thanks to Scott Bradley. Originally, the band focused on Nickelback covers, but after a while they decided to change direction. The band does cover songs all the time, but they cover different artists and mostly in the style of the 1920s. Okay, I’ve introduced the band to you, and now let’s go to the concert itself. Postmodern Jukebox stopped at several locations in Ireland during their European tour, but Galway suited us…

A park that is definitely worth a visit in Dublin: Kilmainham Park
During my short stay in Dublin in May I finally visited Kilmainham Park opposite Heuston train station. Kilmainham Park is located on the edge of Dublin city centre, opposite Heuston train station. Right next to it is Kilmainham Gaol, which contains a large piece of Irish history. The park is known for the IMMA – Irish Museum of Modern Art and also for the annual Forbidden Fruit festival, which this year was headlined by Nelly Furtado. What I did not know is that there is a park with a large green area, but right next to it there is a walled garden and the Royal Hospital Kilmainham, which nowadays houses…

Live: Eras tour aka Taylor Swift back in Dublin
I managed to get tickets to two of the three Dublin stops on the Eras tour and of course I have to share the experiences! And there will be photos! Taylor played at the Aviva Stadium from 28 June to 30 June, the last weekend of the month. I got tickets thanks to Midnights presale last summer. I originally wanted to go to all three dates, but on Friday Ticketmaster marked me as a bot (I didn’t like the tickets it offered me and I threw them away and looked for better sections). Fortunately, it worked out for Saturday and Sunday and I secured tickets for me and two other…
